“Do not settle for mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” – St. John Paul II Fr. Jason comes to St. John the Evangelist Church with over two decades of rich pastoral experience and a deep love for the Church, the sacraments, and the people of God. Now in his 26th year of priestly ministry, he is known for his warm and approachable presence, engaging and accessible preaching, and his passion for building parish communities that are vibrant, prayerful, and joyfully centered in Christ. Ordained to the priesthood on June 5, 1999, Fr. Jason began his ministry as Associate Pastor of St. Mark in Catonsville(1999–2002), followed by Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Essex (2002–2004). He then served as Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Middle River (2004–2009), and later of St. Peter the Apostle in Libertytown (2009–2017). Most recently, he served as Pastor of St. Ursula Parish in Parkville from January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2025. He began his new assignment as Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church in Long Green Valley on July 1, 2025. Fr. Jason has been a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus since 1987. He has served as Chaplain to several local councils, as well as Chaplain for the Baltimore Chapter of Grand Knights, and currently serves as Associate State Chaplain for the Maryland State Council, having held the role of State Chaplain from 2016 to 2018. He is honored to now serve as Chaplain to the Long Green Valley Council here at St. John’s. Born into a large Catholic family, Fr. Jason is the youngest of eight children—four brothers and three sisters—with one sister younger than him. His family has played a vital role in shaping his vocation, grounding him in faith, love, and service to the Church. Their support and example continue to be a source of strength and inspiration. Fr. Jason brings with him a creative spirit, a strong appreciation for Catholic tradition, sacred art, and history, and a desire to use modern tools like technology and media to help communicate the Gospel with clarity and heart. He looks forward to walking alongside the people of St. John’s as together they continue to grow as disciples and witnesses of Christ. “Do not settle for mediocrity. Put out into the deep.” With trust in God’s providence and joy in his heart, Fr. Jason begins this new chapter of pastoral ministry in Long Green Valley.
