What conversion of mind, heart, and life is the Lord asking of me?
He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they refused to come.
How have I experienced God’s invitation to a life of faith? How have I responded to that invitation?
The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come.
How can I prepare myself to celebrate the Eucharistic banquet? How can I grow in virtue?
But he was reduced to silence.
When have I been silent in the face of sin and injustice? How can I best use my voice, especially on behalf of the marginalized?

Ministry Forum and Appreciation Breakfast
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 8:00 in the morning, the Ministry Forum and Appreciation Breakfast will take place in the Parish Hall to appreciate the volunteers of our parish and to present the alignment of ministries under the 5 core mission areas of St. John the Evangelist Church. We invited the Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Bruce Lewandowski, C. SC. R. to be our keynote motivational speaker and Mr. Waye Hipley of the Office of Parish Renewal to assist in the alignment process. This event is open to all parishioners. The event is an action step created by the Ministry Implementation team to increase awareness and participation by parishioners in ministries that will satisfy one’s personal calling and partnership with Jesus.
I would like to ask the leaders of current ministries to inform their members about this event and submit to the Office the total number and names of their participating members as soon as possible.

By now you’re familiar with the difficult reality that 7 in 10 Catholics do not know the truth about the Eucharist. The very source of our strength has become chronically overlooked and misunderstood.
No wonder the world is hurting! How the Church responds at this moment in history is pivotal.
The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States. But we aren’t called to keep this Good News to ourselves! This Revival seeks to unleash new missionaries to bring the healing presence of Jesus in the Eucharist to the margins.
Before every great mission in the Bible, there was a commissioning, anointing, or outpouring of the Holy Spirit. At the National Eucharistic Congress, God will anoint our Church for a new season of Eucharistic mission.
From July 17–21, 2024, the Church in the United States will gather in a new “Upper Room,” boldly anticipating a new Pentecost.
Then, we will be sent back home to our communities, on fire for Christ and ready for the Year of Mission ahead. Will you come to be anointed and commissioned?

Eucharistic Adoration
“Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging that he is a creature before his Creator. It exalts the greatness of the Lord who made us and the almighty power of the Savior who sets us free from evil. Adoration is homage of the spirit to the “King of Glory,” respectful silence in the presence of the “ever greater” God. Adoration of the thrice-holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications.” (CCC 2628)
In this year of Eucharistic Revival, join us for Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday, October 17, at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, October 18, at 7:00 PM, or Tuesday, October 24, at 9:30 AM in the Chapel.
