What conversion of mind, heart, and life is the Lord asking of me? Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.
What am I searching for? How do I decide what is truly of value?
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind.
How do I treat those who are different from me? How can I learn to see Jesus in everyone I meet?
Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.
How do I show respect for tradition and the things of the past? How do I remain open to what the Holy Spirit is doing in the Church and in the world?

Prayer Ministry This Weekend
“Miracles happen. But prayer is needed! Prayer that is courageous, struggling and persevering, not prayer that is a mere formality.” - Pope Francis
If you need prayer or wish to pray for someone or a circumstance in your life, we have people who will pray with and for you. Our parish prayer ministry consists of teams of trained prayer ministers who will pray with you. They are representatives of our parish community who fulfill the call to pray for one another. After all Masses on the last weekend of each month, prayer teams are available near the Mary statue in the front of the church. Simply approach a prayer team member, if you wish, tell them your concerns, and allow them to pray with you and for you, knowing that God hears and answers our prayers. Prayer Ministers will be available after all Masses next weekend, July 29/30.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer Shawl Ministry is in need of acrylic yarns. If you have any, we’d appreciate your donation.
We offer instructions on how to knit and crochet, to anyone interested in joining us. Come to our Tuesday morning meeting, August 8, at 10 AM in the Koontz House. Carol Calvert 410-592-6696; CCalvert543@aol.com

We Are Not Alone: The Promise of the Eucharist
Members of the National Eucharistic Revival and Congress Teams spent a fruitful week in Italy encountering Jesus in many holy places—in word, in the sacrament, and in the communion of saints. Zachary Keith shares his own experience of this powerful pilgrimage, which both deepened his identity as a missionary disciple and heartened his enthusiasm for the Revival through the enthusiastic support of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis' Prayer Intentions
Our Holy Father chooses a special intention for the Universal Church to pray for every month and this month, he invites us to pray for a Eucharistic life: We pray that Catholics may place the celebration of the Eucharist at the heart of their lives, transforming human relationships in a very deep way and opening to the encounter with God and all their brothers and sisters.
“The happiness you have a right to enjoy has a name and a face: it is Jesus of Nazareth, hidden in the Eucharist.”
- Pope Benedict XVI
