A pastoral visitation team consisting of Msgr. Jay F. O'Connor, Episcopal Vicar for the Eastern Vicariate, and Manuel Aliaga, representative of the Archdiocesan Office of Parish Renewal, will be visiting St. John Parish on Wednesday, March 23.
The purpose of the pastoral visitation is to listen to priests, staff, lay leaders and parishioners regarding our parish response to fill the core mission priorities identified by Archbishop Lori in A Light Brightly Visible, 2.0 in our pastoral life and ministry.
There will be a general parish meeting in the church at 7:00 PM. We encourage everyone, especially ministry leaders and members, to participate in this meeting, which will be followed by Evening Prayer at 8:00 PM.
Here is the Schedule of Events that will take place during the pastoral visitation:
12:00 PM Celebration of Mass with parish staff
1:30 PM Meeting with pastor, administrative staff and pastoral staff
3:30 PM Tour of parish facilities
4:00 PM Team meeting
5:00 PM Meeting with parish leadership (Parish Corporators, Pastoral Council, Finance Committee, Facilities Committee, School Board)
7:00 PM General Parish Meeting (in Church): Pastorate Planning team, Adult Faith formation team, all ministry committee members under the Liturgy Committee, all volunteers, including Outreach/Social Service Ministries, the TIM and young adult, Catechists, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Bereavement Ministry, Garden Club, K of C members, Music Ministry, History Group, Haiti Ministry, Walking with Purpose group, That Man is You group, etc., and general population.
