Parents who request Baptism for their children are asked to attend one “in person” meeting. The purpose of this registration process is to bring together parents—and even potential godparents—to meet face to face, to get acquainted, to give growth to active families at St. John the Evangelist Parish. This is truly an effort of sharing the Faith to better live the Gospel, the message of Jesus!
Parents of “first born” children are required to attend Baptism Preparation. Both the registration and the preparation are usually scheduled on second Sundays.
Adult Baptisms are celebrated through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, ordinarily at the Easter Vigil. Persons who are teenaged or adults of all ages are welcome to prepare for Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, and Reconciliation through the RCIA process.
To begin this process, please contact the parish office at 410-592-6206 or email office@sjehydes.org.
